Explore the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Ducati Museums in Italy
Welcome to Italy’s legendary “Motor Valley” — the Emilia-Romagna region. This area is home to the iconic museums of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Ducati. Every year, thousands of car and motorcycle enthusiasts travel here from all over the world.
Ferrari Museum in Maranello
Maranello is not just a town — it’s a dream destination for Ferrari fans. This is where it all began, thanks to Enzo Anselmo Ferrari, who built the most recognizable car brand in the world. Today, you can visit the Ferrari Museum daily from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
Admission costs €17. Even more exciting, guided tours of the factory are available by reservation. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how Ferrari’s legendary sports cars are made.
Lamborghini Museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese
Next, head to the quiet town of Sant’Agata Bolognese. It might seem unassuming, but it’s where Ferruccio Lamborghini started a brand that would challenge Ferrari itself. Originally a tractor manufacturer, Lamborghini turned frustration into ambition after a disagreement with Enzo Ferrari.
That bold move led to the birth of one of the most daring car brands in history. The Lamborghini Museum is open daily from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Entry costs €15. Factory tours are available, but you must book in advance.
Maserati Collection near Modena
Just outside Modena lies a hidden gem — the Collezione Umberto Panini Museum. Surrounded by green fields, this private museum features a stunning collection of classic Maserati cars, motorcycles, tractors and more.
Interestingly, the museum was created by Umberto Panini, known worldwide for his football sticker empire. But here, he is celebrated for preserving automotive history with passion and care.
Opening hours (March to October):
- Monday to Friday: 9:00–12:30 and 14:30–18:00
- Saturday: 9:00–12:30
- Sunday: Closed
Tickets are €15. Factory tours are available upon prior registration.
Ducati Museum in Bologna
Finally, your journey brings you to Bologna — a city famous for food and fast bikes. Here you’ll find the Ducati Museum, a must-visit for motorcycle lovers. Since its opening in 1998, it has become a global attraction for speed enthusiasts.
In 2012, the Italian Ministry of Culture declared it a site of significant cultural value — a rare honor for a motorcycle manufacturer. The museum is open every day except Wednesdays, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. From October to April, it is also closed on Sundays.
Entry costs €17. Factory tours are available by reservation. If your group has at least five people, you can book a private tour with transportation included in a comfortable minibus.
